Garden birthday party decorations?

Hi,

My daughter has a July birthday so we're going to have everyone celebrate with us in a lovely local park, it's her 1st so lots of family will probably attend. (We don't have the room in our garden) has anyone done this before? I'm not sure how to decorate & where to put food, activities for the kids there? I was thinking of putting some buntin up maybe on a tree or something? It's a huge park so we shouldn't be imposing on anyone else too much. Or do you think a hall with an outside area is a better idea? What did you do for your kiddys 1st?! Please help!! I want it to be lovely... & have brain block 🎈

I think outside in the park is fine as long as you have a rain back up plan (like your house). A bit of bunting in a tree is fine and a folding table with food and drink. Bring a picnic rug and ask others to bring theirs. I would just think ahead about how you will get everything physically there. Birthday parties end up being shockingly stressful and logistically complicated. Make sure you have someone who can unload it and carry it all in while you stay with your dd and set up. And make sure it isn’t the sort of place where you’ll have to worry about dogs with lots of babies crawling around on the ground and trying to eat.
