thrush nappy rash

my wee one has thrush in his mouth, on reading up on this i saw it can provoke nappy rash, which he didn´t have. lots of baby info also suggests using a vinegar/ water soln to clean his bum (we normally use plain water, no wipes). he´s only been treated since monday but today he´s started developing a small, red, sore looking rash on his bum.
is this likely to be the thrush or the vinegar soln? should i go back to plain water?
also.. my nipples feel better already from the daktarin for the thrush but feeding seems to be MORE painful for him than several days ago..is this normal?? does it get worse before it gets better?

I don't have any experience - but bumping this for you incase anyone else can help

has your wee one been prescribed anything like nystatin drops or the daktarin oral gel? If so - then keep going until he seems to be feeding better... it can take a few days for the thrush to go completely.

I would not want to use vinegar on a little ones bum.. I would use a cram like canestan if you think it might be thrush or we use daktozin - for nappy rash.
