No Tommee Tippee slow flow teats in the supermarkets?

Has anyone else noticed this? Anyone know why?

I'm getting everything ready for DC2's imminent arrival and our nearest large supermarkets don't have any Closer to Nature slow flow teats. The only 'suitable from birth' ones they have are variflow (DS never got on with these!)

I've ordered some from Amazon but wondered why there aren't any around any more?!

I’ve bought 3 recently, one from Tesco and 2 from Boots. Worth trying Boots?

Oh sorry, I’m not sure of the difference between slow/vary flow so maybe mine are different. They’re just the cheap £1.50 free flow ones.

To my understanding (albeit from 5 yrs ago!), the variflow are essentially suitable from birth, until they don't want a bottle anymore as they have full control of the flow by how hard they suck. DS used to get in a right mess with them as he used to destroy a bottle in seconds!

I'll check Boots too though, good call.

Apparently Boots have them in both my local stores! More expensive than Amazon. Good to know they're available though.

I'm not sure how you've managed to purchase them for £1.50 though as they're around £5 for 2 teats everywhere?!

I think the slow flow aren't around as much because that is what the bottles come with when you buy them- because we moved from the 5oz bottles to the bigger bottles we had spare slow flow teats we never used last time that I'm going to be using this time for DC2 so still not needing to buy them this time! (When I bought med/fast flow ones last time I found them in Asda and I think they had the slow flow too)

CremeDeSudo · 10/05/2018 10:59

@Jfw82 that would make sense. They're included in all the starter kits you can buy. We don't need the bottles though, just the teats! Lots of med/fast flows available everywhere so that's not a worry!

Aldi sometimes have them cheap. Or it may be cheaper weirdly to buy a new set of bottles, as most come with slow flow.

Lemondrop99 · 10/05/2018 14:16

Ergh, sorry. I’m talking about sippy cups and you’re talking about bottle teats Blush. I hadn’t long woken up after a really bad night!! At least I managed to be slightly helpful by mentioning Boots Grin

CremeDeSudo · 10/05/2018 14:36

lol @Lemondrop99 totally understand Grin
