erm. I think that kind of says it all really. DD1 was trained in about 2 days. she had a grand total of 2 accidents ever. We just told her to wee in the potty and she did. Honest. If a hint of a smug smile ever even crossed my mind then DD2 has conspired to utterly wipe it out. She so knows what's going on but she has weed in her pants about 10 times today - and doesn't care. Is this because dd1 was in washables and dd2 in disposables? I think dd2 hasn't really got a concept of "wet". What I really want to know is - is this a normal stage of training and - if we continue - will tomorrow be better? Or is it back out with the pampers and try another week? If I hadn;t given all the washables away I think I'd contemplate a couple of weeks of them. I'm not sure I can cope with another day of constant mopping. It's horrendous. help

my dd did this the first day and i just couldn't stand the stress of it and put her back in nappies the next day. about 3 weeks later we tried again and she followed the pattern of your dd1, not one single accident.

focus on being 'dry' rather than being wet, check every 15 mins then 30 etc. then get her to check herself, lots of praise. do away with pants for next few days so she is extra aware. to reinforce positive you can buy a doll from woollies for £6 that wees with a potty. as she starts to get back on track ask her to teach the doll
p.s all houses with children under the age of 4 smell of wee

Aww the smell og we in a house, when we are old and visiting, shall we look back and smile nostagically at this.

NO NO NO. Toilet training, should be like puberty, there should be a camp that you can send them to, and get them back at the end

Get some oil of cloves (for dd toothache) and get kids to spill it.. smells better than wee!!

My dd weed about 4 times an hour on the first day and I thought I'd really done the wrong thing. Next day she was fine, she was just learning how to control her bladder a bit the first day...sure the house smells of wee though.

Oh bugger, I dread this happening with dd2, as dd1 was similar to yours. I'd put her back in nappies, tbh. Life is too short.

Mine did this, for weeks & weeks with hindsight I should have put her back in nappies & forgotten about it. It became a real issue with us & I'm sorry to say that it completely destroyed our relationship because I got so stressed out. (& she was always wet & stinky)

With my boys I didn't even bother & they trained themselves (much later).
