Staining?

How do you prevent cloth nappies from getting stains?? I bought some lovely nappies to try out and my baby has successfully stained every one.

Is this the price we pay for using cloth???

Hang them up outside on a sunny day - sunlight bleaches out the stains.

How are you washing them? Are you pre-rinsing pooey nappies?

fleece liners stop most poo stains I find

On 40 degrees I couldn´t shift the poo stains and although sunlight did do an amazing job it didn´t shift them completely. I´m now washing on 60 degrees with a prewash and that gets them gleaming white.

I agree; washing at 60 will get them clean. Some of my nappies were terribly stained but washing with prewash seems to have got them all clean now. Hanging them on the line in bright sunshine does help too though.

I have to dry inside but if I make sure the clothes maiden is in sunlight the stains disappear - tis magic!
