How do you help your kid express its emotions? Struggling with my 5 yo that is aggressive

I can't claim to do this, but we were told to model emotions out loud, very consciously: "oh, the bus is late. I feel quite worried about being late for school."
"I'm cross that I dropped the plate. I'm going to count to 10 to calm down."

Have you read 'How to Talk so Little Kids Listen'? I really find their advice excellent about not denying the child's emotions or trying to talk them around. So if your kid says that he doesn't want to go to school, don't start listing all the great things about school and telling him he has to go, just let him have his moment to moan like we all need to, and say something like "you can't face it tomorrow?" and see what you get.
