do you believe having the kids helping when cooking is good? struggling to do chores and spend time with them in the evenings.

I l8ike it when mine help me with the cooking but it does take longer to get the meal ready if they’re “helping”. How old are your DC? Are they old enough to do some of the chores or get a meal ready for the family?

Yes DD loves to help. She is 4. She can grate cheese or veg, beat eggs, knead dough, add pizza toppings, shake salad dressings and lay the table. She is just starting to peel and chop veg with help and close supervision.
I think it's important that she learns basic cookery skills so can cook for herself as an adult. Plus she enjoys it and wants to try what she has made.

My ds helped me since 3. It was great if he chops up vegs he will eat it with pride. It takes longer, but it's fun, and getting used to measuring etc, timing, counting etc will give them good base for maths.
