3month old no longer happy

I've had a fairly chilled/relax time with my baby so far, he's a normally very calm happy baby but the last 3 days he's done nothing but cry/moan/fussy. This isn't like him at all. Any one had any experience?
He's needs are all met, he's always got a clean nappy, fed, naps well. But he's just not happy.
Any thoughts?

Could he be too hot? Babies often get a bit fussy in warmer weather, and he's probably not used to it with the weather we've had recently!

Teeth?

CrumbliestFlakiest · 06/05/2018 15:10

Has he got enough stimulation? Play gym and toys? Is he being held too much?

Mine went through a fussy stage just before he started rolling. He was getting very frustrated in himself as he just couldn't get his body to do what he wanted.

I did think it could be teeth as he has started drooling lots but I've read drooling is normal, he could he hot too but our house is very nice and cool.
He has a play gym but just cries now when lying down and wants to be held, he used to love his play gym.
Is just sad to see him get himself so worked up and equally hard on me as I can't get anything done, feel useless as nothing is calming him down and neglecting and snapping at my older DS. Grrrr

Is it particularly when he's lying down that he's unhappy? If so, possible ear infection?

AnxietyForever · 06/05/2018 16:26

Well he can start crying etc when he's both lying down and being held, although he does calm down when being held.
I hope it will pass soon.

I’d suspect an ear infection or teething.

Any fever?

AnxietyForever · 06/05/2018 17:04

No he doesn't seem to have a fever, he's not constipated or anything as he is going normally.
Tomorrow is a new day, hope he's more settled then.
The funny thing is, once he's had a nap, the first ten minutes or so he's smiling and kicking around then he's just upset after that

@anxiety
How long is he napping for/ how often? Is he possibly still tired?

AnxietyForever · 06/05/2018 19:38

He's sleeping maybe 45 mins or so at a time which is what he has always been like and has a really long stretch on a night.
I had read that it maybe the 12th wonder week going on at the moment as he is a little over 12 weeks.
He has cried most of the evening and is now asleep on my chest

@anxiety

If no temp, not teething, not windy, colicky, post-vaccination, sleeping fine, drinking enough milk, making wet nappies..... is say try not to worry and nap/ drink tea/ try not to stress as much as poss! Good luck!

Anxiety if not ill I would suggest it could be a leap, as you mention. Do you have the Wonder Weeks App? You put in due date (not birth date) and it gives you a chart showing when fussy periods can be expected and what development phase they are going through.

It doesn't work for everyone, but I found the leap dates were spot on with when both my LO's were not themselves. Fussy, crying more, sleeping less are classic leap behaviours. I find the app really helps, as I have a reason for the behaviour and accept we have to get through it, but it will pass!

Just to update everyone who offered me some advice.
My little boy is finally back to normal. Still no idea what was up with him but he's back to him happy self and it's all forgotten
