Dummy hell

How long is it a nightmare for after taking the dummy away for night time? Last night was the first night & it was hell!!

We had barely any sleep felt like she woke up every hour crying/whinging for it. She is 2.10, I'm pregnant too so I'm feeling totally knackered this morning!
We made it though I didn't give in - so feeling proud this morning Grin.

I'm sure it was about 5 days and it did taper off. Dd was stuck to hers and we did it at 2. They really do forget really quickly.

We did it gradually as my DD have about 5 on the go and we gave them to the dummy fairy. From the last dummy going, she was upset for 2 nights then we never heard of it again

Well done for sticking to it! I was pregnant too and bloody exhausted but was worth it in the long run and she's never tried to take the baby's.

Throw it in the bin in front of her. It's pretty final. We did this at around your daughter's age and it was fine.

Had about 5* sorry typos!

Hopefully only a few nights then.

About a month ago she used to have it in the day time on occasions too but we put a stop to that so that dummy got taken away by the dummy fairy. This then just left her 'night time dummy' so we talked about the dummy fairy coming & taking it away for a new little baby etc, dummy fairy left a pressie this morning so she's happy right now her tiredness/grumpiness will kick in later I'm sure. I can't wait! Haha.

Get a couple of cheap gifts (stickers, little toys etc) and leave them for her to fine in the morning with a thank you note from the dummy fairy. The thought of getting a surprise will encourage a excitement at night.
