I found going from 2 to 3 the easiest transition of all
I have similar age gaps to you
I was just more relaxed , more experienced and the older child is pretty much self sufficient and a good helper

2 to 3 has been the hardest transition for me, but I have bigger gaps than you.

DD1 was 4.7 when DS was born. DS was 3.1 when DD2 was born. The 3 year gap is a tough one.

I feel like I'm spreading myself too thinly between the three of them, and DD2 is only 3mo. The older two notice that I haven't got enough time to spend with them individually now, and I have a lot less patience for fannying around and delaying tactics, so I shout a lot which isn't good for any of us.

Just wanted to throw another perspective out there, because I always hear people say 2 to 3 is the easiest transition when for me it definitely hasn't been.

Oh bugger eek that’s what I’m going to have in a couple of months, a 3 and a nearly 5 year old. I’m getting a bit anxious as we’ll have start the school run and I’m pretty relaxed about most things except when there’s faffing about leaving.

I have four

10, 8, 5 and 18 m

I cant even say which was the 'hardest' jump tbh as they all had their own challenges!

Id have another if i was allowed though so it cant have been that bad!

Mug it might just be down to personality types, and I'm sure it's going to get easier. Plus DD2 was completely unplanned so I've been anxious about being outnumbered since the off - my kids are like animals in more ways than one it's like they know when I'm stressed and they play on it!

On the plus side, the older ones adore their baby sister - especially DS - and the way her face lights up when they talk to her is starting to make up for the hard times.

At the moment, it's the hot weather getting me down - can't supervise all of them when the baby has to be in the shade but the big ones want to be in the sun playing and the 3yo's self preservation hasn't kicked in yet Grin Thankfully it's been the weekend so DH has been home too!
