Differences btw Wam Bamboo and rebranded Bambineo nappies??

Have just bought some Wambamboo nippa nappies and love them and would like to get some more.

Have noticed that you can now buy them with the new Bambineo label and logo.

Are they different in design to the older ones, or just rebranded? And if they are different, are the newer Bambineo ones better?!

Thanks in anticipation

AW, we keep meeting up! How's your ds?

I have both (as you would expect ) in nippa.

I actually prefer the wbb's although that's prob. very personal. The bambineos have more elastic, but they seem to dry slower as a result. They're softer too than the wbb's but after a few washes I can't really tell the difference. Also the Bambineos come in popper version & I don't think the pistachio colour was available with wbb's (and it's quite nice, I think, all my bambineos are pistachio). I just find with the nippas that the old-style are easier to put on, but that may change as he gets bigger when the extra elastic will come in handy.

Flamesparrow · 15/05/2007 21:15

Yup - slightly more elastic to the bambineos, and a longer pile terry (hence the staying softer).

If you have velcro versions, then the cross over bit of velcro is much longer on the bambineos.

Oh, and the pistachio n poppers. The blue doesn't fade out like the wbbs either.

Actually working-wise - they are the same Just the elastic/drying that can be slightly longer.

Have you tried a popper, flame? What are they like? I have far too many, but really fancy a blue one...

the pistachio is lovely in the bambenio and tempting me to two parts from pocket land just for the fun but i must stay sane! However today i received some stock fluffles and my god there fluffy and willing me to try! Fluffletastic!

Flamesparrow · 15/05/2007 21:31

Not yet - there was a cock up and I didn't get my order with the first batch Am waiting for the next lot to come in.

amazonianwoman · 15/05/2007 21:34

Thanks all

Hmmm, the Bambineos could be good then if velcro is longer and they are more elastic as DS is a WHOPPER. Might just order some old and new and velcro and poppers in every boyish colour available Flame - do you have a website? If so, will get some from you

AQ - TRAITOR - that's all I have to say

Oh, and DS is getting better !!! Tried him in friend's MB in pushchair mode yesterday and he liked it - he's not a fickle buggy fashion victim ha ha (Have to say I miss having the bug chassis to pop carseat onto when in a hurry)

Forgot to ask - if the Bambineos have longer pile terry, does that make them bulkier? I like the slimness of the WBBs!

indeed I do!

If you do the poppers on preorder and I will make sure what you want are in the batch and get them out asap (will see if there is an eta tomorrow).

The longer pile makes them slightly bulkier initially, but they squish down after a couple of wearings.

Flamesparrow · 15/05/2007 22:09

Blues are best ordered in just poppers only as they are still running down wambamboo stock and its hard to get them as bambineos.

Can dye them boyish colours for a small amount extra ... that option coming tomorrow hopefully!

morocco · 15/05/2007 22:14

what's the velcro like longer term? i've got a few size 1 and like them but can't decide if i should get popper or velcro for size 2. obv the velcro on my size 1's is going strong still but my tots bots velcro never seemed that great after a year or so

Flamesparrow · 15/05/2007 22:15

I'm a nippa girly myself, so no decent reply to that (and they've not been going that long so its a hard call to make anyway).

I should think its about the same whatever velcro you have.

AQ - OK, skulks back in embarrassment

Don't think I'll bother with velcro, just washed some other nappies and forgot (as always) to fasten the velcro so everything else in the wash has stuck to them... Blue poppers tho', defo!

AQ - out of interest, what other nappies do you have? Looking for inspiration - don't like bulky ones, never had much luck with pockets (Fuzzis) for DD. Getting other friends to buy them so they can claim back council rebate and I can get them for almost half price

We're just pushchair junkies, aw, don't worry!

I have mainly wbb's, supplemented with some fluffles but I've just sold most of them as they were far too bulky for day so just using for night for time being. Trying to get some bumbles, I think they're a good option for me as quick drying and natural fibres unlike fluffles. Also just got a pocket swaddlebees and love it. My MEO are not bad either. Have purchased a fuzzi bunz and bear behind but not recvd yet, perhaps you should try other pockets?

amazonianwoman · 16/05/2007 20:33

Yeah, swaddlebees look good, so do bumgenius birth to potty pockets...

I have a couple of Ella's house hemp - they're nice and thin but take a long time to dry too.

If you like the Fuzzi, I have about 12 mediums and 2-3 large and plan on selling them if you're interested. Just need to find the bag I put the mediums in They're all immaculate, no stains, only used part-time for around 4mths. Good price for you seeing as you never sold your bugaboo

Have just bought another swaddlebees on nappy lady plus some bumbles (she was selling 15 if you're interested in trying one). Do wish my fuzzi & bear behind would come, been waiting nearly 2 weeks as 2nd class post v. slow.

If I like my fuzzi I'll let you know, thanks! A few pockets would be really useful for nursery when he starts. I'm now using my bug as a car buggy, I feel so decadent, but my god is he happy in it when I go shopping!

accessorizewithbabysick · 16/05/2007 20:45

I was keen on ella's house until I read that hard water areas really trashed them & I don't have a dryer. Pity.

Flamesparrow · 16/05/2007 21:03

I reeeeeeeeeeeeally want a black fuzzi

Flamesparrow · 16/05/2007 21:03

Hate my bumhugger with a passion
