Help with 9mth old

OK I need advice. My son is a few days off 9 months and I am struggling to keep him entertained at home. Unless I am with him and constantly thinking up new ways to entertain him he screams and screams. As for letting me out of his sight...forget it! He rolled both ways at 3 months but isn't crawling or sitting himself up yet so I think he is just really bored / frustrated.
The trouble is my disability means I can't get him out too often on my own. We go out 2 days a week when his dad off and I try to take him out one other day but it isn't easy. He weighs 12kg and is nearly out of 12-18mth clothes so is huge.
So any ways you can think of entertaining him that will last for more than 5 minutes please say or any other advice you can give. I am feeling so sorry for him that he can't get out more and so guilty.
He sleeps well, eats a lot (3 times a day and snacks) so I'm sure boredom is his issue.
Thanks guys.
