Hello!

I'm a FTM so sorry if I come across a bit clueless here!

My DS is 3 months old and had his second round of jabs last week on Wednesday, it was the set with one injection and then the rotavirus oral stuff. Ever since then he has had a dreadful cold - he sounds very congested although no snot streaming. (Its his first cold so we bought everything we could think of - calpol vapour plug, snuffle baby rub, saline solution for his nose & a bogey sucker)

Before this cold hit DS was sleeping through the night mostly, with occasionally wake ups at 3am for a feed. He was really easy, sleeping from 8-8 most nights. He was also on 6oz bottles every 3 hours like clockwork and he loved his feeds. I feel like all of that has gone out the window completely. He sounds a lot less congested now and seems happier in himself but he's still only drinking 3-4oz of his bottles and more like every 4 hours. He also spits milk up a lot - which he never used to. He is also waking up every 2-3 hours sometimes for no apparent reason and we've gone back to putting him in his moses basket even though he's too big because we can elevate this, which helps with his congestion.

My question is, is this normal? When will it ease again? Does it sound like a cold, or should I be taking him to the doctors?

Help!

Thanks @Thankfudge I was wondering if it could be something to do with the sleep regression as well.

He honestly seems fine in himself, he's smiling and laughing as normal. Its just the feeding and sleeping thats my concern.

Bit of a bugger with calpol as well, he hates the stuff.

Yes, it’s normal. Mine is 10 weeks and has a cold and just had jabs on Wednesday as well (the 8 week ones, we’re a bit late as they had to reschedule our first appointment). He’s been much the same, just unsettled, disrupted sleep, not eating quite as much. It does get better, but when they feel poorly everything goes a bit pear shaped.
