Your 7 month baby schedules

Interested to know what a good routine would look like for my 7 month DD. She used to do/does naps of 1.5 hrs in morn, 1.5 hours early afternoon and 45 mins in the late afternoon and bedtime 8pm, but as started waking at 6 so that's probably not working anymore, and I think she could be ready to drop a nap. I'd love to hear what others do.

My Dd gets up at around 7.30 has one nap around 11 for an hour. Another nap 4 til 5 and then goes to bed at 8. So I think dropping the other nap will help. She got herself in to her own routine and I can't seem to get her out of it. But she seems happy and is never grouchy or tired

ADuckNamedSplash · 03/05/2018 22:24

This is around the time they're supposed to drop to two naps, yes.

My DD wakes sometime between 7:30 and 8:30. She has her first nap around 2.5 hours after she wakes; is then awake for another 3 - 3.5 hours before the second one; and goes to bed around 7. Nap lengths are quite variable - can be anything from 30 to 90 minutes.

At 7 months Dd would:

6:30 wake up, breastfeed
7:30-8 breakfast
10:30 nap
12:30 lunch
2:30 nap
5:30 dinner
6:30 start bedtime routine, with aim to be in bed by 7/7:15

Then it all went completely mad and we lost all routine for about 4 months, finally getting back on track now she’s 16 months, but down to one nap a day now 😭

Up at 7, breakfast about 8.30, nap at 9.30 for 30 mins then feed on wake up.

Feed at about 12.30 then nap for about 1.5-2hrs. Nap can stretch an hour later if somewhere engaging.

Feed after wake, dinner about 5 then bed at 7.

I found doing a 5pm nap sometimes for max 15 mins helped the transition to 2.

Thanks all. She can't manage more than a 2.5 hour awake time, in fact even that extra half hour is pushing it but I've been trying to make her do it as I want to put her down at 9 when she wakes at 6, but she can only manage until 8.30 latest. This is obviously way too early. I really need to tackle the early morning waking but what used to work before (pushing the morning nap back) isn't working now.

She does sleep through but bedtime has become harder in the last two weeks, another reason I think her routine needs tweaking

Sorry multiple posts! Sleeps through but leaps, teething etc will wake her up - had a shocking week week before last.

6am is not too early for wake up! My 5 year old wakes at 6.30am! My 5 week old generally wakes at 6am but obviously goes back after a feed.
When older dd was 7 months her routine was :

Wake 7am
Bottle 8am
Breakfast 8.30
Nap 9am - 30 mins
Snack
12pm- nap - 30 mins
1pm- lunch
1.45pm- bottle
2pm- nap for two hours
5pm - dinner
6.30pm- bath
7.45pm bed

She slept through from 4 months

My DS has just turned 7 months. Our routine varies a bit depending on what we're doing, but is something like this -

6.30am - wake up
7am - bottle
8.30am - breakfast
9am - 10am - nap
11am - bottle
1pm - nap, usually till 2pm, sometimes 3pm
3pm - bottle
4.30 - half an hour nap if last nap ended at 2
5.30pm - tea
6pm - bath, PJs and story
7pm - bottle
Bedtime is between 7pm and 8pm depending on last nap

He doesn't sleep through yet and sometimes has a bottle at 2am. Trying to drop this bottle!

babysharkdodododododo · 04/05/2018 13:48

Oh I missed out lunch! He has lunch at around 12pm

We dropped the third nap about then and did wake up 7am, first nap at 9.15 for 1-1.5 hours second nap 2.30 for an hour and bed at 7.30

BodgingThisMumThing · 04/05/2018 19:55

Op you sound like me!
About to turn 7 months and he;
Wakes at 6am
2ish hours after that he’ll nap for 90ish minutes, 2 hours after that he’ll nap for 90ish mins, then needs about 45 minutes at 4ish. So exactly the same as you.
He also sleeps through unless there’s something wrong like his teeth.
Dropped that last nap but he’s so grumpy after 7pm so I’ve put him to bed at 6! God knows but at least he does 12 hours at night!

BodgingThisMumThing · 04/05/2018 19:56

Sorry so grumpy at 4pm so I’ve put him to bed early at 6!

ADuckNamedSplash · 04/05/2018 20:38

She can't manage more than a 2.5 hour awake time

Keep an eye on this - until about a week ago, DD couldn't either; it was almost overnight that she suddenly started to be able to go for longer (except for the waking to first nap stretch!)

KimchiLaLa · 05/05/2018 21:24

Thanks all, and Bodging how funny, I started to think I was the only one who's baby couldn't handle too much awake time!

We got some blinds for her room. I'm not sure if it was the blinds, but today she slept until 6.20 - I'm hoping it increases per day but also know it probably won't!

When I've cut the morning nap slightly, she's been very annoyed at me.

A few months ago she set her own routine and it worked just fine so I'm wondering if I should just go with her flow again, and make tweaks if needed after.
