Tooth fairy

Last night my 9 yr old DD put her tooth out for the tooth fairy. Unfortunately i totally forgot about it so this morning she was disappointed that the tooth hadn't been.

I just said that sometimes the tooth fairy has the night off but I'm now worried that she will get laughed at by her friends with her tale of the rubbish tooth fairy.

At what age did you tell your children the truth about the tooth fairy?

Sadly, I did the same when my dd was that she and she still tells me that was when it dawned on her that Mummy and the tooth fairy were the same person ! She's 20 now and has got over it !

DD had never lost a tooth before she fully understood that the tooth fairy was imaginary, when she placed her first tooth under her pillow she made me assure her that I would keep the tooth and give it back to her after the "tooth fairy visited"
