I'm sick of my family being stuck in front of screens or ignoring each other. We all need more exercise! If you are a sporty/active family tell me what you do to maintain this. We will go for a walk at weekends if I moan like fuck and force everyone to but I have the type of metabolism which means that I need to exercise or I get fat quickly. And I've got fat. So ideas/advice?! What do you sporty families do?! Help me get a more active family please!

Parkrun is great for families. It's very non competitive and there is no such thing as too slow. Under 14s can also participate in Junior Parkrun on Sundays, which is 2k instead of 5.

They start at 9am in England and Wales, 9.30 in Scotland or NI.

Always outside if not raining or blowing a gale. Trip to the seaside with dogs and a thermos in winter ot bbq and swim stuff in summer. Go for an exciting walk (local woods and make dens etc) rather than just potter around the village. Take bikes to bike trails. Go to indoor trampoline park in winter as a treat. National trust members.

But we live in a village and have dogs so that makes us go out. DH has outdoorsy job so fun to go and ‘help’ him for a bit sometimes.

Basically if the sun is out, there are no screens unless been out all day and come home pooped and need a rest.
