How old was you child when he/she stopped having stabilisers on their bike? Realising that I have (once again) forgotten to tick off this milestone and 5yo DS still happily clambering along with stabilisers. This can join the ever growing list of parenting things that I haven't remembered to get sorted.

My DS will be 4 at the start of June and we are planning to start trying in the summer. There’s no set rule though, my own parents started trying to teach me at around that age but I couldn’t ride without stabilisers until I was 7 while my brother was a natural and could ride without them at 4. Good luck and don’t beat yourself up about it, I forget pretty much everything and my 2 DCs are fine 😘 xx

My eldest ds was about 6.
Younger ds was 3 but he had a balance bike first and didn't have stabilisers at all.

Could you get him a cheap balance bike to learn the balancing thing first?
