Having a battle with 6 yr old dd at the minute over vegetables.

Tonight just done chicken nuggets and pasta in sauce.

Ds loves veg so in his pasta I've added broccoli, peas, carrots, sweet corn.

Dd hates it all and will only tolerate a small amount of carrots and sweetcorn. So I've added a few into her pasta.

For the last 20 mins I've been cooking, all she's done is whine at me. She doesn't like vegetables, it's so unfair, she's not eating it blah blah blah....until I finally raised my voice and gave her the 'you get what your given, no pudding etc etc' talk

Anyway then ds pipes up with 'I love you so much mum, you're the best mum, I'm going to eat all my vegetables because I know that makes you happy'....purely to get one over on his sister lol.

Now he's sat eating his tea with a 'mmmm yummy carrots'....'oh I love broccoli so much' 'this is delicious mum, thanks so much'....whilst dd is sat sulking with her head in her hands lol.

The pair of them are driving me up the wall lol.

Right must dash, a battle with sweetcorn awaites.....

Just say

‘DS! You eating your vegetables is nothing to do with me. It’s about you and your health so I don’t want to hear any more about it’.

‘DD! You eating your vegetables is nothing to do with me. It’s about you and your health so I don’t want to hear any more about it’.

They both think the vegetables are about you.

I kept offering ds veg, no pressure to eat, he could swop with a dsis for one thing he did like - lo and bloomin behold, at 9 he turned onto a veg fiend!! Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, the lot!! Keep offering, ignore of genuinely don't like it, try different things. They get there in the end ime!!

@Aprilmightbemynewname haha that's a good one lol.

I have to say though, I'm not overly worried about he actual eating of the vegetables, she willl eat them, she just causes a massive fuss.

Ds was the same and now he loves them. And I'm pretty sure I was the same so they probably get it from me.

It's just the way ds is like 'oh I love you mum' whenever dd is getting told off lol. He's also told me I look 'majestical' today....cheers son lol
