Does this look like an allergy?

Hi there,

I’m wondering anyone could have a look at a picture of a rash my toddler has and see whether they think it looks like an allergy please?

This rash appeared on my toddler (18m) yesterday morning. It started on his tummy but then spread to his arms and legs.

I took him to a pharmacist who said I needed to see a GP as it looked like an allergy or something that needed treatment. I ended up at my walk in centre because there were no appointments with my GP.

They first thought it was chicken pox, then went through scarlet fever/slapped cheek but he doesn’t have a temperature. In the end they said probably a virus which caused a rash and sent me on my way with some piriton. They said his glands were up slightly and his tonsils a bit swollen.

He had piriton last night and some this morning and this is what the rash looks like now. I can’t shake the feeling that it’s an allergy to something. He is generally fine in himself but he has had some loose nappies over the last few days.

Thanks

It's nothing like chicken pox! Doesn't look like allergy to me either though OP, sorry not much help!

If it was an allergy the Piriton would have cleated it up pretty quickly.

Thanks for your replies.

It’s so confusing. The spots don’t have any blistered heads on them but have now spread to his chin and cheeks.

I’ve rewashed all of his clothes in fairy non-bio as I used a different one last week, just in case it was a reaction to washing powder.

He’s down for his nap at the moment but might pop him along to a pharmacist when he wakes up. Don’t fancy sitting down the walk in centre for another 5 hours like yesterday Blush
