Sleepyhead/Poddlepod

I'm 17+5 with my first baby and have been looking at baby nests. I have been offered that chance to borrow a sleepy head from a friend, but was wondering if anyone knows what the guidance is around this/ I know re-using cot mattresses is a big no-no. Would this be the same for the nests? They seem very expensive to not re-use.

Sleepyhead was he best thing we bought. Not sure about the inside parts but you can wash the cover and let air dry.

The whole thing is washable inside and out

I emailed the Lullaby Trust about the sleepyhead when considering it for DS. The reply was that they don't recommend it's use. I don't know if their position on that has changed or not since it's been over a year. Might be worth checking their Web page to see what advice they currently give?

Meant to add, or ask your Health Visitor (you should meet them just before baby is born) or Midwife. They should also be able to give advice on safe sleep solutions.

Yeah that’s fine, but with the guidance around not re-using mattresses I didn’t know if it would be the same for these
