And me tartan, and op's dismissive and patronising responses are not helping.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 24/04/2018 18:14

It's not just her title cloud, it's all her other responses.

formerbabe · 24/04/2018 18:15

It's like those dreadful social media posts of incredibly fit, muscled people who clearly spend all day in the gym and accompanied by the hashtag #noexcuses

no excuses.
Are you absolutely sure about that OP?

I am pleased you are enjoying yourself but its possible to share your pleasure without putting other people down.
Its a skill some people seem to lack.

Sleepyblueocean · 24/04/2018 18:18

I can think of plenty of excuses.

If you had said ‘I like gardening with my kids would anyone like a natter’ perhaps those of us with a shit tonne of excuses and indeed reasons would have just chosen not to click. I am wandering off now...

formerbabe · 24/04/2018 18:20

So I’m a shit parent because I didn’t plant fucking watercress on the bastard windowsill?

Yes..there's no excuse Wink

Former I think you're mixing up me and the OP. The photos are mine. I was showing the OP what she can do even if her area is concrete. Leaving aside the hugeness of my garden, that particular area was horrible tarmac and was transformed with gravel and raised beds.

summerinthecountry · 24/04/2018 18:29

I don’t like the tone of your message but understand your message. You need to work on your delivery.
Some people have bigger things going on without orders to do more from you

Oh apologies! Should have looked at the user names there Blush

summerinthecountry · 24/04/2018 18:30

A bone cancer investigaton might be considered a good excuse.

I would love it if those raised beds were mine. I started with £1 seed planter about 60 spaces for seeds and £1.50 bag of compost not very big but it did the job. If you were looking to do it with the children you could start with around £3.50. Cacti are so easy but im not sure id want to eat them

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 24/04/2018 18:35

£3.50 with the seeds. Depending on what you wanted to grow you could get the seeds for free.

Your title made me want to come on to post fuck off.
But i get your sentiment, i rent and its really tricky as everything is in pots. Half my plants died in the last move as they clearly didn't like the new house, we also had to leave loads behind. Which makes it really demoralising for the kids. But i have had great success at potatoes and the children love digging them up.

piesandcrisps · 24/04/2018 18:38

They’d just enjoy digging surely?

halfwitpicker · 24/04/2018 18:38

I have a massive garden, two willing children and I really need to get on it.

Butternut squash and rhubarb for us this year methinks.

Greenglassteacup · 24/04/2018 18:43

We grew some really good spuds in a big bucket last year

OohMavis · 24/04/2018 18:43

I took the title to be rather tongue-in-cheek.
