Child car seat for 135cm plus

Hi MNers,
Ds9 is now 138cm tall and no longer legally requires a car booster seat, however, he prefers to sit in one as he "feels safer and more comfortable". Am I correct in thinking that it is a safety requirement that he now uses an adult seatbelt without a booster? I have looked online but all info relates to when boosters are required and not when they aren't.
Thanks in advance x

Nope up to 150cm in an appropriate seat is ideal

I believe you can use a booster up to 150cm. Car seat advice uk group on Facebook is good for advice.
