Great at using potty when bare bottomed but wees in knickers...help!

Hi dd1 (25.5 months) has decided that she wants to use her potty. As we have been home she is just walking around with a little bare arse. However the only accident she has had in 3 days has been when she had knickers on. It could be a coincidence but I am not sure what to do as we have a busy week and are out a lot. I am worried that if I put her back in pull-ups she will just get used to wearing nappies all the time but don't want her to keep wetting knickers as this could also be counter-productive. Help and advice please!

I'd treat it as a coincidence, and carry on without worrying about it just yet. See how you get on - don't see it as a problem until it is one, iyswim.

Stick her in knickers, and make sure you take her to the toilet frequently. I'd put her in knickers around the house as well, just to get her used to having to pull them up and down.

Yeah think I am probably overstressing about it. In midst of weaning dd2 and made the awful error of listening to hv (which I know better than to do) so feel like I have gone back two steps. Am going to go with my instincts on both things and all will be fine. Cheers for answering!

Arriety i'm having the exact same problem except dd is about a month younger. Let me know if you find anything that helps, she has been perfect in the house bare bummed but as soon as those knickers go on she's weeing herself!

Ditto! May just have to spend the next few weeks at places that don't mind a semi-naked child bombing around!

I have this problem with DS1 (2.3yrs) Absolutely dry when bare bummed, wets himself as soon as he starts wearing pants. He is capable of pulling them up and down, so thats not an issue.

Will she tell you when she's weeed herself? because my dd will, but she just won't bother to go on her potty to do it

She said uh-oh and there was a puddle so not sure what happened. Was wondering if when there is something on she just thinks it is a nappy. She loves her knickers so hopefully will be ok soon. Oh well we shall see!
