Hideous girls shoes!

Went to try to get some shoes for my nearly 1 year old DD today and came home empty handed. They were all disgusting! Pink, flimsy, you name it!

We had a boy first so i guess girls stuff is new to me. HAve coped ok with girls clothes - want her to look like a girl but now like a doll - so dress her in pretty jeans and tops. Don't even have a problem with pink clothes in moderation. But i draw the line at shoes!

Is it just me?!

then put her in boys shoes/trainers.

My 23 month DD is in some nice navy/lilac clarks shoes. I've also just bought her some 'chunky' sandals from next with are cream with only a little bit of pink. She runs arround in these fine but you dd might be a bit young yet for sandals - i'm not sure...my dd didn'y walk untill she was16 months old! Thewre was also some really nice red leather girls shoes at clarks last time I was in but not in my dd size

Get boys shoes. Although you may struggle to locate a pair of boys shoes amongst the pinked masses.

How about Startrite? these? or these?

Aloha · 12/05/2007 22:08

Lovely classic start rites include their red t-bar and mary jane styles - I framed my dd's first pair. Plan to buy her classic Start Rite T-bar white sandals for summer - she is just over two.
If they are a bit retro for your taste, there are lots of cute styles around IMO. eg Birkenstocks come in tiny sizes.
