can you summarise, give us some examples? where did you buy it, might have a look ..

NuttyMuffins · 12/05/2007 19:58

I also brought it on the strength of Cod's thread, but have to admitt that I haven't read it yet

munz · 12/05/2007 19:59

ooh that sounds good, i'm always asking a the minute and it's hit/miss - might eb his age thou - do they recommend ages at all?

glassslipper · 12/05/2007 19:59

more examples please

barbamama · 12/05/2007 19:59

do you know I can see that - asking nicely or shouting really doesn't work - if I specifically ask ds to do anything he automatically won't and to be fair, I remember hating being asked to do chores as a kid.

Does it offer any advice on the getting dressed trauma?

hmmm mine may be a bit young 2 1/2 but that does sound pretty good - I have noticed that sometimes if you can keep your temper you can distract with silliness maybe that is similar

I got mine for about £6 off ebay.

FrannyandZooey · 12/05/2007 20:10

Pruni well done you

I am not convinced I would remember to do all the new things even if I read the book

WendyWeber · 12/05/2007 20:11

It's by 2 American womena - it's an oooold book, 20th anniversary edition came out in the late 90s.

I'm sure we had it once but can't find it now (too late anyway )

Cool, I have it on order but I had been wondering even after Cod's thread if it would work with a three-year-old. DD is a little younger (3.2) but this gives me hope.

I am looking forward to finding out what the correct response is to 'I'm hungry' when the automatic one would be 'that's because you haven't eaten a single thing I've put in front of you ALL day, you ridiculous child'.

And whether there is an equally effective alternative to 'do X or I'll switch the television off'.

Tamum · 12/05/2007 20:20

That sounds impressive. I can just see your ds responding to flights of fancy type jokes
