Baby choking

I woke up this morning and hurd my baby gasping for air, I jumped out of bed and she looked as though she was chocking, bubbles were coming out of her mouth. I sat her up and tapped her back this carried on for Mabye 20 seconds and then she seemed fine, she also brought up some wind. She cried for her bottle she usually takes 5 ounces and she only tuck 2-3 and fell back to sleep, she is breathing normally again. I'm unsure weather to take her to a&e or get a doctors appointment as she is only 6 weeks old and I am very conscious of germs and bugs in hospitals and a&e! She is bottle fed, this incident also happened about 2-3 hours after her feed

Maybe call your HV/ GP?

Take her straight to the GP as an emergency appointment, they will refer you to A&E if needed

This happened to me btw, A&E was definitely required in our case, and GP called an ambulance. She needs seeing today though, so call for an appt now. Hopefully it was probably just a bit of mucous or something.

@user1499451561 I know this is an old thread, but what happened? My six week old keeps doing this. I took her to A&E where they ran tests (but seemed more concerned with her cough than with her choking?!) and sent me away. I felt silly at the time but now I am beside myself with worry again.

@Scottishnewmum she had reflux, she was on gaviscon with every feed and never did it again!
