Best Garden toy for toddler?

Any recommendations?

We are lucky enough to have a good sized garden so I'm open to any suggestions. He's 16 months and just walking.

He's not really that interested in toys in the house and likes to play with real things (keys, sinks, make up etc!)

But was there anything you bought that was popular?

A turtle sand pit and then all the plastic toys for inside-plastic kitchen stuff, boats, plastic animals. Also a small wheel barrow that they used to collect leaves, push toys around, 'help' with gardening. How lovely to have a toddler for Summer ! Our garden is now full of big teenagers and a fire pit..

Watertable / can use for sand too. Various prices on early learning or eBay

Scuttlebug is good if you have a patio to scoot on.

It really depends on budget - I’d love a little tikes climbing frame but can’t afford one plus tiny garden but DS loves it at a friends house since about 18 Mths www.argos.co.uk/product/7605848

Water table. Ours is 7 years old now, and everybody loves it, even the 10yo still plays with it. You can fill it with sand, water, set up dinosaur land, penguin pool, all sorts of things.

Great for small ones to encourage them to stand and walk around the edge as much as possible.

We love ours. Get one with a lid though.

My two boys have always loved our swing. I thought they would loose interest but three years down the line and it’s still played with lots. We got a nice wooden one and have just swapped the toddler seat for a proper one

Sand pit/water table. Mud kitchen!

Little Tykes style sturdy plastic sandpit with lid, the kind with castellations around the edge. Fills with sand, water, both or neither, bubbles, toys, whatever. I got one second hand £15 off eBay and it's had loads and loads of play.

When it's outgrown it will become a base for my compost bin :)

Sand pit extremely popular here. Also a little plastic car thing she sits on and toddles round on
