how long should I let him go without a poo?

J normally (until now) goes once a day around 3.30pm if notin the am as well, anyhow he's not been since monday (which was a rather explosive everywhere poop.)

he's currently off his food quite a bit and is having milk, yogurts & rasins only. (have put this down to the fact he's just cut another tooth.) I don't want him to get constipated but not sure how long I should leave him be - he doesn't seem in any great distress by it.

(he's 14.5 months btw) and on cows milk.

Dh suffers with constipation and the bumf from the hospitals says three days is the max. Try giving him some orange juice or some prunes.

LilRedWG · 10/05/2007 13:59

If that doesn't work, pop and see your GP.

ok will get ot, I have dried apricots (but as I say he's not having anything)

I did wonder that cos he's not really eating there's nothing to pass as i were?

Or it could be that he's so bunged up he's got no room for food. DD was like this and didn't eat solids for aa month. The worry is, if it sits too long in the bowel it dries out and can become impacted.

Got to go - she's awake, but will be back later if you have anymore questions.
