Where do you buy your toddler's shoes?

My 16mo is on her second pair of walking shoes this year. Both times we measured her and bought from Clark's. Are there any other good shops for well-fitting childrens' shoes that are a bit cheaper? I have had lots of problems with my feet and wear orthotics myself so I am particularly interested in taking care of feet! Thank you.

I tend to buy start rite shoes. I either get their feet measured in John Lewis or clinkcard

I don't rate Clark's but I know others do.

Clark’s have outlet shops that measure and fit shoes that are seasonal but aren’t “new styles”. Our outlet stocks summer shoes in summer, spring in spring and school shoes all year round, they’re about half price ish and uses the same machinery to measure. I agree that shoes need to be well fitting and it’s important to look after feet, but spending £40 every ten weeks ish is a lot and have found that Startrite are just as expensive as Clark’s and independent stores are even more so.

I just buy Clarks shoes in the size or 2 up in the sales then take them with me when I get them measured next and they are always happy to check fit and refund if needed. Always handy when they grow out of shoes around sale time. Rarely pay more than £15 for a pair of Clarks shoes.

Thanks. I'm going to find an outlet as I can't keep paying £25 every couple of months. Start rite are even more expensive so I will try and find them cheaper too. There are a lot of baby shoe companies on sites like Instagram but can't tell the quality of fit and I would prefer obviously for baby to try shoes on.

don't buy clarks, just buy barefoot shoes whenever and wherever they are cheap. Whilst almost certainly better for their feet than any sort of fitted shoes, the most useful thing is that they are sized simply by length, as they are always wide enough.

I like barefoot shoes a lot too! however I wouldn't safe to much on shows once they start walking or trying to walk. rather on other cloths

Yes I think you're right there. Never wear cheap shoes!

I don't think there is much cheaper than Clarks other than outlet. I got some after Christmas from Startrite online in the sale (£60 down to £10!) but I have to really hope that her feet don't get wider before she fits them. I am lucky as a friend works for Clark's so will check the fit for me.

I used to go to independent shops when mine were at that stage. I don’t think much of Clark’s quality wise. My kids might have been dressed in Primark but they always had good shoes

You can sometimes find heavily discounted start rite shoes in TK maxx.

Start rite usually. We go to John Lewis. My Kids feet grow really slowly though so we get a good 6 months out of shoes usually so I don’t mind paying the prices.

Start rite and Clark's are different fits. Our local Clark's isn't well regarded for measuring kids feet either
