Whats with ebay - so anti green!

Yet another unhappy ebayer here, just about to emigrate and DD potty trained - much needed money required so tried to sell excellent condition nappies on ebay - they have gone mad!

No used reusable nappies - oh heck thats just so anti green. I thought the whole purpose of re-usable nappies is that they had an extreamly long life and were supposed to be sold on and re-used to maximize environmental friendliness!!???

what idot is behind that policy???

Ebay are daft to be potentially losing so much revenue.

I sold 4 nappies and a wrap within one minute of putting them on the nappylady classifieds last night .

beckmo · 10/05/2007 12:16

But they seem to choose randomly which listings to cancel. I bought a sack of used mother-ease last week but a listing I was bidding on for 2 rikki wraps today was cancelled.Very annoying and astonishingly ignorant of them.

Flamesparrow · 10/05/2007 22:12

They are cancelling ones that are reported - it seems to be another nappy seller doing it

Flamesparrow, you should set up a trading section on your site!

Flamesparrow · 10/05/2007 22:24

Have been pondering the way round it, but it would be a lot of work to have it on the actual site - been thinking about a seperate forum for it instead?

sadiemcgrady · 10/05/2007 22:26

How does the nappylady do it? I haven't been over there.

Flamesparrow · 10/05/2007 22:27

Its a seperate classifieds section sort of self run.

I think I will look into a forum over the weekend. It'll have to have big disclaimers about me not getting involved with disputes etc.

kittypants · 10/05/2007 22:30

its pants!im having nappylady trouble.buyer not happy but everyone else who brought nappies in same condition isthink maybe theyve not had second hand before.

sadiemcgrady · 10/05/2007 22:30

Oh yes, that could be a nightmare!

Just a quick question if you don't mind flame... I'm looking for newborn nappies. Are Bimbles any good?

kittypants · 10/05/2007 22:31

what i ment to say also was, hate that cant get same protection from nappylady as ebay.

Skyler · 10/05/2007 22:32

I had my nappies and wraps pulled from ebay this week. All with bids on .
I wasn't aware of their bloody stupid policy. I emailed to say how ridiculous it was but got dumb standard email back. Even if they disagree with nappies what is to object with the wraps. They only touch the skin in the same way as a pair of shorts ffs.
Allowing the sale of second hand footware is more 'unhygienic'. They can't be washed.
I will have to try TheNappyLady I think. No-one on there seems to want Kissaluvs though.

bobsmum · 10/05/2007 22:33

There's a petition somewhere against this. I've signed it but I really don't have a clue where to find it. There was a link on here a couple of weeks ago, but it would take a lot of searching, sorry.

It really is a stupid thing for Ebay to do.

Flamesparrow · 11/05/2007 08:15

Sorry, went to bed. Never used bimbles, but I am very impressed with bumbles, so I would say they are probably as good

snugglebumnappies · 11/05/2007 08:31

sadie, I love Sandy's newborn (sooo cute ) and swaddlebees organic velour one, really soft, sorry never tried bimbles either , DS2 is 9 weeks old now so i have something new to try now

beckmo · 11/05/2007 09:36

Another seller reporting them? That is sooooo cheeky and mean....

I have just been dealing with the seller directly by emailing them on bidding just in case their listing is removed. Means you don't get ebay protection but when the wraps I was bidding on were removed we came to our own deal and I felt like I had somehow thwarted ebays attempts to keep me away from my nappies! And avoided over bidding. Yay!

nappyzone · 11/05/2007 21:09

i got told of an auction site just for nappies - similar idea to ebay but no protection etc..., does anyone know what it is as i have a motherease airflow to shot of that i despise (sorry im not a two part lover!) it is meany of the seller reporting i agree - shame on them!

Flamesparrow · 16/05/2007 21:30
