Where did you put your car seats?

For some reason I thought they went behind the driver.

Have been googling and everything seems to say that middle seat is safest, followed by the seat behind the passenger.

Not sure our car has the fixings in the middle seat ( checking this afternoon) but wanted to see what Mumsnet says?

Behind passenger in ours, that’s the way the person in mothercare fitted it.

Think mine went behind passenger seat. Never had them in the middle

I’ve got 3 children. I have one in each seat!

Ds3 has isofix in the middle while the older ones who don't need boosters on either side (also in the back row is ds 9 still on a booster - short arse!)
Easier in the middle when can reach back and buckle in instead of standing in the cold faffing about!

Middle seat is safest only because of side on impacts. It’s not safest in a front/rear crash as if the fixings fail it will go through the windscreen.

DD went behind the passenger seat because it was easier to see her/hand her things that way.

If one child, behind passenger seat is easiest for access. The majority of the time, you'll pull over the left to park. So if the child is on the passenger side, you don't have to stand in the road to get the child in and out

Thanks all!

I went with behind passenger- figure if i pull in at the road, she will always be on the path side....

We have ours behind the passenger seat. Because it's on an Isofix base it eats into the leg room of the front seats, so being behind passenger seat means there's more leg room for the driver. Also if you get one of those mirrors that you attach to the back headrest, you can check on the baby in your rear view.

It is much more common in the US to have the car seat in the middle but not so much in the UK.

Behind drivers seat or my OH can't fit in my car. (Very tall OH, I'm very short & drive a Mini)

Twins so one behind the driver and one behind the passenger seat.

The middle seat would be a pain in the neck trying to get them in and out. I certainly wouldn’t have managed it post section.
