Did you feel judged for breastfeeding longer?

My DC is 9 months & still BF. Just recently I've started getting a complex that people think I'm BF for too long & DC is too old. I don't know where this has come from? A few weeks ago I was breastfeeding at baby group not worried at all & now I wouldn't because I feel like people are thinking 'is she STILL BF?' Confused I don't know where this shame has come from.

Quote the World Health Organisation recommendations of "breastfeeding for two years and BEYONED!". I don't think I felt judged for breasting until my little one turned five years old. We did natural term breastfeeding. Sounds like you are doing fab, continue as long as you and baby are happy to do so x

Breastfeeding* - quite like Breasting, might use that if i ever have another child Smile

Yep DS also has teeth! And likes pinching and pulling my skin as well (like he’s kneading bread Shock). Usually means he’s full and just playing, he doesn’t chew when he’s actually hungry.

mumlife - having breastfeed a child with adult teeth, I can assure you that teeth need not be a consideration where breastfeeding is concerned x

I BF my 3 for years and never cared what anyone thought. Most people assume they have stopped as they get older anyway as they would usually just BF at home or in private.

Didn't realise before posting you had been munched on lol. Keep removing nipple and re-latch after explaining you don't like it. They soon learn because they want the milk.

@sashkin yes!! DD also does this... I have so many scratches! Sometimes she really gives it a good old stretch lol!
@loopylass haha yep! Unfortunately I have a tendency to yelp & yank it away instinctively! (it really does hurt) then DD screams like I just slapped her! Not pleasant for either of us really. But I think I can manage that for 3 more months!

By the way, how do boobs go when you stop?! Do they get smaller? I really hope so!! 🤦🏼‍♀️
