DD is 2 weeks old, formula fed and her nappys have looked like this for a couple of days, very stringy mucus. Shes ok in herself, she does breathe quite heavy sometimes but not particularly snotty. HV says its fine but that was only over the phone. Anyone else had similar or think it's something i need to act on?

Could you have put a warning in the title about the picture?

Yes, I'd say a GP appointment is a good idea in case of intolerances etc.

Not a helpful comment @ew1990 when OP is obviously just concerned and looking for advice. I'm even more disappointed as I recognise you from the pregnancy boards so your a mum to a little one yourself and must know how fraught with worry it can be!

Cows milk protein intolerances and other dietary issues can cause mucus stools like this.

It is worth a GP visir for sure

@happymondaysandtuesdays I didn't mean it to sound so harsh, I was meant to come back with a comment but DDs only just settled

@Twitchett22 sorry I didn't mean to come across nasty, the colour looks ok but I would definitely get the mucus checked out. And congratulations on your new DD

I feel incredibly guilty, I know the panic and how it feels, when DD was newborn she used to breathe really deeply and then normal breathes and then breathes so little it looked like she wasn't breathing, I think it last because they can't regulate there breathing at first?
