Teething

My DS is 5 months and has his 2 bottom teeth. He's been teething from about 12 weeks, and the poor boy just doesn't seem to get a break from it. He seems to be suffering teething pain all the time. Just had a 30 min screaming session. I use Anbesol which usually takes the edge off. Just wondered if anyone else's Baby seemed to really suffer with their teeth, and any top tips? I dread to think of going on like this until all teeth are through (for him and me!!)

We use to give ds Calpol or ibuprofen when he was in lots of pain! My feeling was if I had a headache/toothache I would treat it so why wouldn't I treat my baby!

I'm with the calpol/ibuprofen brigade.

I tried everything with my 3 dc and it was the only thing I found to actually take the pain away and given them some relief for a while.

Frozen ice pops (water) if you are happy with the soggy ness that will follow are good too

But I see no advantage to a baby being in pain imo

Poor little guy. I feel for you, my DS is the same. Calpol and/or infant Neurofen help but if he has a really bad night we take him in our bed.

Just had to resort to the calpol. He's started clenching his mouth shut when try give him teething gel and I don't want to hurt him prising his mouth open!! Countless nights now of 30 min wake ups. People keep saying it'll pass, but god it's hard to survive each night and remember that!!!

I've just started using teething powders with my little one and they seem to relieve for a while
