Any guesses as to what this rash is...??

My poor 5 week old baby has came out with this rash over the weekend.

He's had dry skin on his eyebrows and had milk spots from 2/3 weeks old but nothing like this.

  • I haven't changed washing powder, using Fairy Non Bio
  • I dont use a load of products on him (like Johnston's products)
-using the same Aldi nappies/wipes from birth

I have changed his formula a few days ago from Cow&Gate infant formula to the Cow&Gate hungrier babies. I've went back to using the infant forumla today.

Ive been smothering him in Childs farm Moisturiser over weekend til i get him to the doctors tomorrow.

Anyone else had experience of this? Any guesses? Eczema, allergic reaction?

Has he been unwell? I came down with a similar rash as have many of the children at my sons nursery. Not clear what it was though.

Dairy- no, he's generally okay. Weeing okay, pooing okay - but hes always had squishy yellow poos, nothing out the ordinary.

Hi there. Did you manage to see a dr.

The last 2 pictures look like what my little boy had. It was baby acne. It cleared up after a few weeks and seemed to bother me more than him .

He had it over his face . Head. Back. kneck wasnt very nice to look at but not serious.

Dr said to me babys skin is trying to adjust to everything new and their skin is so sensative so doesnt take mich to irratate them.

Xxx

We were prescribed avino for DS it seemed to work . DS also has eczma so we switched to childs farm bath wash and moisturiser. Seems to work for him.

Sometimes its trial and error to get one that works for your LO

We were given Aveeno too, GP said it was baby eczema but it only ever came out on DS once when he was about 8 weeks, lasted about a week then cleared up with Aveeno and hasn't returned since (now 12m).

This looks like erythema toxicum. Completely harmless and goes without treatment. My baby had this. Congrats on your 5 weeker!! X
