6 month old routine

My lo is nearly 6 months old and I would love to get her to have a bit more of a routine now. We are slowly transitioning from breastmilk to formula as I am exclusively pumping. What is your routine like if you have one. My lo doesn't go to bed until like 10/11 a lot of the time and I have read people saying there lo goes down around 7!? She has started to slowly drop her night feed so trying to see what I could do about a routine

If all goes according to plan:

7am to 7.30am wake up and breastfeed
8am solids
9am to 9.35am nap
11.30am breastfeed
12.30pm to 3pm nap
3pm breastfeed
5pm solids
6.30pm bath
7pm breastfeed
7.30pm bed

She sometimes will be as much as half an hour off the sleeping times depending on when she woke up and sometimes she will do two or three short afternoon naps instead of one long one. The feed times are quite consistent though. At night she might wake once or twice or sometimes not at all.

This is her natural routine that she got into once I set bedtime at 7.30pm but I understand it's not dissimilar from Gina Ford's routine. My daughter is just over 6 months old. I always offer solids at the times stated and sometimes a bit at 12pm but she often doesn't eat any of it.

Your lo sounds a little like mine a few weeks ago at five months. I also exclusively pumped, we had no routine whatsoever, dd was going to bed at 10/11pm at night and I couldn't get a routine in place.

I got a tip from mn about tracking a few days on paper to see if there was anything routiney already present. I split the day into 15 minute chunks, and wrote down what dd was doing at each point. I realised she was having a nap about 2.5 hours after she woke.

What I also noticed is that her routine naturally changed after we started solids at 6 months.

Now we have, very roughly...

7am-ish wake & first bottle.
9am breakfast.
10-11am-ish nap for an hour-ish.

12-1pm-ish nap for an hour-ish.
2pm lunch.
3-4-ish nap for an hour or two.
6pm dinner.
7pm up to bed.
8-9pm sleep.

In between these hours, we might have an afternoon walk or trip outside, playing on the floor, and I just feed dd a bottle of bm or formula when she wants one (I tend to do bottles of bm at night as it lasts longer outside of the fridge).

She still wakes a few times a night and has a tiny bit of milk.

Hope this helps. Smile
