Allergy testing

Hi all!
You may remember my many posts regarding my little ones reflux problems. Anyway, after ending up in hospital (not due to reflux, he had severe diarrhea for over a week and still has it) he has an appointment coming up with a specialist to see is he has any allergies.
I don’t know what to expect from the appointment and am wondering if anyone can enlighten me on what will happen please? I’m presuming he will have blood tests but I’m unsure what exactly for (just cmpa it will they test for a range of things including lactose?) or when we will get the results? Will we get a diagnosis on the day? I have a list of symptoms to take with me to go through with them.
I’m feeling relieved at finally getting this appointment but also nervous too. What if my son doesn’t have an allergy and we are back to square one trying to work out the problem?!
Thanks in advance for your help Smile

Not sure what they’ll do sorry. Think I may have had blood tests when I was tested for lactose but I’m sure they’ll numb the area first. I’ve had the patch tests too but that was about 20 years ago and I’m not sure they still do those. Could you call the clinic and ask for some more info?

Don’t forget the allergy section on MN too. I found it really useful when I was diagnosed with CMPA Smile

Haha Jilted I’ve just noticed you’ve posted on another of my threads asking if my little
one could possibly have cmpa. He’s being tested on Friday for it. Thank you for the replies
