Windy/straining 2 month old baby

Hi

Can anyone advice me why my baby strains to poo? She is breastfeed, but after her 3:30am feed she is very windy and very aggravated. I give her gripe water after this feed because I know she won't settle down. The gripe water use to work but lately doesn't seem to work much anymore for her. she is straining a lot also.

People have suggested a little bit of boiling water might help, but also worried as it's advice not to give them any water until there 6months. My little girl is 2 months. Can anyone any mum relate to this problem?

Thanks

My DS is the same during the evening.
He is 6 weeks and we too have tried Gripe Water that seems to help.

I never understand why he strains to poo as his poo is liquid (also breastfed).

From what I've heard, gastro issues tend to teeter off after 12 weeks, as up until then it's all very sensitive.

Thank you for your response Smile

Yes I don't understand either as her poo is liquid and she poo's regularly after most feeds.

I mentioned it to the doctor last week and said the exact same thing about her stomach being sensitive.

It's very upsetting to watch and wish I could do more to help her.
