7 week old DS.

Usually a pretty chilled, happy baby, easy to feed and get off to sleep. In the past two weeks things have really clicked and I felt like I knew exactly what to do when he was fussy/overstimulated/bored and basically could stop him crying pretty quickly.

Today has been a nightmare! He woke up at 7 crying and hasn't stopped all day. To be fair to him we suspect he is early teething and can see what looks like two small teeth coming up on his bottom gum - but he has been handling it well up til now. He's been fussy with food, crying when held, crying when put down, crying when he's had his nappy changed - the only place he didn't cry was the bath. Now he's also had two very bad liquidy poos that absolutely stunk to high heaven, one was dark green (fairly usual for him - anti reflux milk) the other was yellow and a bit mucusey. His little butthole is red raw. He's had flatulence all day as well. He's also barely slept - 10 mins here and there and then he wakes himself up crying.

I've taken his temp and its 36.8 which internet says is normal. I've given him 2.5ml of calpol at about 12pm (GP cleared) He doesn't seem unwell in himself as he has smiled a fair bit today in between all the crying and cooed at his toys. I'm at a bit of a loss what to do next?

Sounds like you've done all the right things. Most likely a ride it out situation, he may be going through some developmental changes or something like that which give him a bad day (s). Just cuddles and using your mama instincts! Sometimes at these times it feels like they'll never be their usual self again Cake
