7mo rolling over and waking up - is this a phase?

My lo has been rolling from back to belly for months now but has only just started doing it during sleep, and it's waking him up. Last night he rolled, woke up, tried to prop up on his arms and cried hard for 6 mins. Normally he's not a big crier and calms down immediately after a cuddle but I couldn't comfort him this time 😪. This afternoon he did it in his sleepyhead (so we'll have to remove it now). Does anyone have any advice?

When my DD was that age and learning to roll she kept waking in the night because she was trying to sleep on her side and kept rolling waking by trying to roll onto her side and falling back to her back.
I spent a couple of weeks supporting/holding her in the cot to fall asleep on her side then gently lowering her onto her back which would happen a couple of times a night. Then she started rolling onto her front and despite a bit of panic from me she’s slept on her front since.
Not sure there’s any advice in what I’ve said apart from it won’t last too long; just another phase

DD did this for a while, then got accustomed to tummy sleeping and didn't mind so much.

I did lots of Tummy time in the day to help her practice rolling from front to back, a month later she's fine about it.

My DS did this for about a week at the same age. It was a tough week but it really is just a phase and he will
soon learn to roll back or just sleep on his belly. I was paranoid about him sleeping on his front but wasn't much I could do to stop him and he actually slept much better after this. But yes definitely get rid of the sleepyhead now!
