University family accommodation

So, as my partner works regionally we are thinking of moving to the city for my MSc, which starts in September 2018. We have 2 DCs.

There is a decent amount of Family self-contained accommodation offered by the university, so we are thinking of applying.

Has any else done this/is doing this? Does anyone have any experience of university family accommodation? And advice at all?

Thanks

I lived in university family flats in the 80's

What was it like?

Basic!

One flat was 2 beds a living kitchen and a bathroom and that was for families with 3 or more children

The next was a new build 3 bed flat with separate toilet and shower room.

There were lots of restrictions such as furniture and decor that my parents found difficult making it a family home

Thanks!

We will only be there for a year and figure that as it's cheaper than the Market rent for the city centre/walkable to the university it might be nice to do. I don't think we could stay for much longer than that! It'll be fully furnished right down to sheets and crockery which will feel slightly odd Grin
