Please say my 7 week old baby isn't teething?

DS is 7 weeks on Wednesday, since yesterday AM he's been so so grumpy and not his usual self at all. We recently switched his formula to SMA Staydown (Anti reflux) and he's been so much better on it - feeding beautifully and sleeping like a log so this turn around is a bit of a shock.

He's frantically putting his hands in his mouth and cry / moaning when he can't keep them in there. He's been really dribbly / blowing bubbles and he's also refusing / being fussy with his dummy - which he usually loves! He's done 3 poos already today and they were V liquidy which is also unlike him - he's usually a 1 a day guy - however I did give him 5ml of lactalose yesterday as he gets a bit bunged up on the new formula (HV advice) so that could be why. Also the poos are dark green but I've been told its normal with thick milk.

I've tried looking at his gums but I don't really know what I'm looking at (FTM) Help!?

Oh pics -

Sorry can’t really see enough detail on the photos but if he’s teething, yiu can usually see the tooth through the gum. Dentinox Teething Gel is suitable from birth so that might be worth a try Smile

He could well be teething. Ds was born teething (you could see the little white tips under his gums the day he was born)

He was a thoroughly unhappy little fellow until he was old enough for calpol (which of you go to gp is younger than it says on the bottle, they just give them a smaller dose, based on their weight)

Ah sorry just seen the pic, yes think I can see two little teeth coming through on the front at the bottom, good luck op! (and get thee to the Dr for proper pain relief for the little one!)

My DD has two teeth through by 12 weeks, it's definitely possible. Nelson's teething granules were brilliant but I'm not sure what age they're suitable for.

oh no Confused we've only just got over some feeding issues and now this. Ok does anyone know what I can do to help him? he seems to be rather irritable, he's not slept longer than 10 mins today, I'm losing the will to live.

Teeth shouldn’t cause any problems really with feeding, if it does though, just give one of the Bfing Helplines a call.

Definitely try him with the Dentinox Gel Smile

Try some of the cool teething rings maybe and see if that helps? I find DD usually just wants cuddles and closeness when shes teething so see if that helps. Hopefully they will be out fairly soon xx

Thanks smurfy.

HV confirmed it today - two teeth coming through on the bottom. He's allowed 2.5ml of calpol and I've got some bonjella to use too. Frozen dummies are helping at the mo!

There is no rule when your baby starts teething. Some kids are born with teeth Grin. The most important thing is to recognize teething symptoms which may vary and find proper soothers. I can recommend you an article, which was a great help for me, a complete how-to guide, so maybe you will find it useful as well: altodiversi.com/blogs/news/complete-guide-to-choose-the-best-amber-teething-necklace-2018
Godd luck for you and Baby Smile

Ashton and Parsons teething granules were great.

some people think they are snake oil but I think they worked for DD

Also 'tooth nappies' are a thing and nursery wouldn't send any kid home for them, unlike normal runny poo

PLEASE DON'T GET AN AMBER TEETHING ANYTHING definitely snake oil

My DS21 was born with his two front teeth just ready to erupt. He was born on the Tuesday and the little white teeth appeared through the gum by Friday. His very first dental appointment was when he was 6 days old!
