My 8 and a half month has had her two front bottom teeth in for about a month now. Shenow has a top one coming through and she's grinding his teeth/gums.

Is this normal? How can I stop her?

I think it’s pretty normal. Have you tried her with some teething gel like Dentinox? You could give her a chunk of cucumber, a frozen banana or a cool, clean, wet flannel to chew on too.

My dd started grinding her teeth at about the same time...the sound gave me shivers! I didn't do anything though and it stopped on it's own. I think they are just experimenting with their new teeth and/or doing it for comfort.

As my predecessors say, it is normal, and indeed, the sound gave me shivers!
I can recommend you an article, which was a great help for me, a complete how-to guide, so maybe you will find it useful as well: altodiversi.com/blogs/news/complete-guide-to-choose-the-best-amber-teething-necklace-2018
Good luck to you and Baby Smile
