Mothers day

wife's first mother's day today and I'm in the dog house. For my mother each year I bought a card and she was very happy with that.

So I Moonpig a nice card for my wife "from" our daughter, well in advance assuming I have done what's needed.

Perplexed by the slight lack of enthusiasm for the card, and then puzzled by the bad mood until she tells me "Would have been nice for flowers or chocolate". Have I been out of order on this? Just to say her family and my family have very different approaches to birthdays, Christmas etc. They always give each other gifts (normally money) while my family normally just give each other cards on these events.

Have a scroll through her Facebook if you get the chance. Absolute minimum would be breakfast in bed, chance to take a long bath and a bunch of flowers.
Consider the possibility that if you have not already told her how awestruck you are at her strength shown through pregnancy and birth, how you could stare at her mothering your child for hours or how it suits her and how beautiful she is then she’s probably feeling a bit insecure and shit. Has a big gesture like eternity ring crossed your mind?
