My 7mo used to demand sleepy feeds (we co-sleep) 2-3 times at night. This week it suddenly shot up to, well, most of the night! I might get an hour's respite here and there when he does into deep sleep, but most of the night he is looking for boob. He half-wakes, latches for a few sucks, then pulls away and rolls to his other side. Then he'll twitch, cry a bit, roll back and latch on. This happens maybe 5-10 times over an hour before he goes back to sleeping deeply. It's making my nights very difficult, and I'm not too sure if he's sleeping well either because this new behaviour is accompanied by a longer nap after lunch, 2-3h.
I don't want to stop night feeds entirely because I've struggled to get him to breastfeed, so I'm happy he's taking any of my milk at all. I'm just a bit concerned that he's not getting enough rest and wondering of there is a cause outside developmental changes
We started weaning a few weeks ago, but experimenting with different/no foods makes no difference. He has teething pains but nothing out of the ordinary at the moment. He's trying his hardest to crawl at the moment so is very very active. He has a bottle before bedtime so I don't think he is any more hungry overnight than usual. He is plateauing in trends of weight. Has anyone seen similar?
