Keeping kids safe from abuse..

As a parent we always talk or teach our kids the basic or important things like crossing the road, brushing twice a day or eating healthy instead of junk food.

But when it’s time for real talk we do hesitate allot thinking this may be not the right time or the right age to discuss, talking to them about staying safe from sexual abuse is just as important as teaching them to cross the road.

I am participating in the #bzzagent campaign with #nspcc_official a campaign where you teach your child to stay safe.
We know our children better than anyone an by that we know how much detail to give.

Nspcc is making it much more easier for parents with this fun PANT activity pack which includes fun tasks, word searches, games and stickers, you can help them learn without using any scary words.
You can order a pack for free if you live in UK through this link

With a suggested donation of £5 (optional)

It’s a pity they don’t afford protection to girls in the GGs. They can put out all the leaflets they like, but any charity that is supposed to protect children, while saying that parents are not permitted to know if a young TIM is sharing sleeping quarters with their daughters or accepts men who simply self identify as women, as guide leaders, has seriously lost their way.

I'm currently finishing this campaign too. Its all very well telling kids to say no but abusers won't listen. The part that says if anyone asks to see in your pants.... what abuser does that. I think it needs a little rethink. abusers do not care. Where is the part that tells the child to kick scream, create as much noise as possible to bring attention to them. Its not mentioned.

BTY, is there anything in the leaflets/articles telling girls they don’t have to be confronted with a male bodied person while changing their clothes or washing, or goes that not count?

Not that I noticed but how the hell do you explain that to kids when so many people claim they are not the sex they are born with. Too confusing for kids and I think the NSPCC may be holding back somewhat because of it. Also a high majority of women will abuse too so even if it was girls with other girls, boys with other boys the message is the same.
