Video baby monitors recommendations?

Our baby monitor packed in last night , completely lost the screen but had sound thankfully but we need to go out this evening to get another for tonight.

Just asking for opinions, which ones do you use/recommend? Is it possibly to get one that works on WiFi (so an app on my phone) but also a handheld device or is it one or the other? The last one we brought was a cheap amazon one so we are willing to pay a bit more for a decent one this time that will last!!

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the suggestions are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing out baby monitors. Read our reviews to see which product was crowned best video baby monitor.

Hope that helps! Flowers

I’ll be watching this as I asked the exact same very recently and didn’t get much of a reply!

@Smellybears I've just been searching old threads but there doesn't seem to be much!! Hope someone comes along for us both Smile

We have the BT Video Baby Monitor 6000 and we absolutely love it! It has great range (it will work over one-and-a-half floors in a Victorian house with thick walls), good battery life (especially if you set it to only turn the screen on when a noise is heard), and a very clear screen that makes it super easy to maneuver the camera bit around if you need to change the view up/down/sideways.

I don't think it has a WiFi setting, but you can connect other handheld devices if you have children in different rooms and just swap view when needed. It's pricey, but I haven't regretted the expenditure at all! I use it every single day for naps and nighttime will continue to do so with my next baby. Smile

Historical what do you make of the sound volume? Looking at reviews it looks like a really good monitor but people are moaning about the volume?

We have the Motorola Video Monitor (Model MBP853) which comes with a screen monitor but we also have the app on our phone so we can also view it from the phone. It has been great for us!

We also have the BT6000 after 2 awful Motorola's. Agree with all the positives Historical notes. The screen is large and it's easy to operate.
The sound is quieter than others, fine in the evening when you're awake but at night we use a cheap audio monitor just in case in a deep sleep (again a BT one about £16 iirc)
We nearly bought a WiFi one but I'm glad we didn't, too many variables and chances it might not work.

We actually got the BT video monitor 4000 yesterday as it was on offer. I absolutely love the big screen!! So far we've had no problems at all!

Jitterbug where did you get it on offer please? I’m after a monitor Smile

@Smellybears Argos! Smile I think it's recently out. We got it for £99 but it's £150 everywhere else I think!
