NSPCC Talk PANTS

I just wanted to put up a post to say how helpful I found the NSPCCs TalkPANTS pack I have just received. It covers all the basics about how to talk to the children in the parents guide, and if you’re someone like me who struggles with the important things you may find it handy. It also includes some children’s activities (colouring, stickers etc) so you can also have some fun whilst doing it. And there is a video as well introducing PANTosaurus Dinosaur who does the PANT dance- my kids loved this video. My older dd is 7 and understood well by just talking to her, and she’s done lots of it at school too, but my middle dd is 4 (almost 5) so I found the pack really helped her with the key facts. It’s helped to solidify the facts that her body belongs to her and that her privates should remain private, but I did have to say that medically sometimes it’s necessary to show someone but that they should ask if ok first. It also got her to understand that if someone tries to touch her and she’s not happy with it then she should talk to an adult that she trusts about it.

For for rambling on but I loved this pack and thought I’s share the information incase someone else is wondering how to start the conversation too.
