I feel your pain! We're in central Scotland so I think we've got a few more days of it! I held my 7 month at the window yesterday and he spent a long while shouting "uh! Uh! Uh!" At the blizzard. Roll on summer.

Games of peek-a-boo

Find a cardboard box and use it as a drum (this is a big favourite here!)

Dance! My baby loves to dance sitting on her bottom so that radio is a good source of entertainment

But, I have to say that later on I will be wrapping baby up really well and heading out. We drive each other potty if we stay in all day.

I feel your pain. I have a barely walking 1 year old and an energetic 4 year old. We are on day 2 and I would imagine tomorrow will be the same. It feels like it must be at least mid afternoon by now but it's not even 11am yet....

A box with random items they can take out one by one and investigate? Eg kitchen utensils, different textures, things they can bang together etc. Mine also loved handbags they could rifle through.

Bubbles

Treasure boxes (random stuff from round the house that they aren't normally allowed)

Snow watch out the window

Watching reflection in a mirror

Fairy liquid bubbles on their high chair tray for wet play (I'm yet to try this)

Change rooms for a change of scenery

** Nursery rhymes on YouTube!

Another support for treasure boxes - I got a washing up bowl and just walked around the house picking up different textured stuff, CDs, kitchen utensils etc and my son would take it all out and slobber on it - filled at least 30 mins to an hour. Also messy play with a bowl of jelly or spaghetti, long bubbly bath with lots of cups and toys, singing/dancing. If all else fails CBeebies!

Thanks for your ideas everyone will definitely be trying a few, especially like the treasure box idea. She's currently ploughing through her changing bag pulling out the nappies, clothes, mat etc. Funny the things that keep that entertained for a while! Oh & as I type this she's had enough of the changing bag... HmmGrin

Have you tried making play doh? It’s edible so it doesn’t matter what she does with it Smile

Ilovemybaby91 · 01/03/2018 19:13

@everyonetalk is it really? I didn't know that! I had considered it before but thought she'd just put it in her mouth (like everything) still a bit concerned about her putting a big lump in & choking though. (Head goes to worse case scenario always) Hmm maybe I will give it ago highly supervised Grin thank you!

IT isn’t edible but you usually add salt so that it’s unappetising. The recipe is here. It’s helped us get through a few rainy days in the past Smile

Box of tissues, or empty tissue box with stuff in- scarf/ socks etc- same fascination at pulling them out.
Box to get in/ under/ peek through.
‘Cooking’- crispie cakes? Flour and water?
Edible finger paints.
theimaginationtree.com/homemade-edible-finger-paint-recipe/
Bring some snow in in a washing up bowl/ on high chair tray. Add few drops of colouring.
Dress up- hats / scarves and a mirror.
Oh, and some CBeebies.
