Has anyone got a child on the autistic spectrum who also has PDA? We are taking DD to hopefully get assessed. I believe she is high functioning autistic but so much of her at times extremely challenging behaviour could be explained by demand avoidance.

Hi, I think my dd may suffer from PDA, it’s not recognised in my area, she was assessed by CAMS step 2 programme a few months ago, but they discharged her saying it’s too early to tell if she suffers from autism (also high functioning), she is 5 and they said they would re assses in 18 months if her behaviour hasn’t improved.

In a lot of areas the closest you'll get to a diagnosis is PDA traits. I know my area doesn't diagnose it.
There is a PDA society charity I believe.
